Before starting please read all information on the back of
your IGRIN join-up form. If you haven’t received a join-up form
or you need more information please notify us so we can email,
fax or post one to you.
Below are basic instructions for setting up your IGRIN
dial-up connection and email. The Internet Connection Wizard
will work for Windows 95 - XP, for other operating systems
click here.
You should
remove any existing dial-up and email settings before beginning.
Please do the following from your Windows Desktop:
Click start
Then run
Type in inetwiz
Click ok
(If you get an error message or the Internet Wizard doesn’t
load, please call us for assistance with setting up your
connection manually.)
You should see the following screen:

Select Connect using my phone line
then click next
Click Create a new dial-up connection then click
next – as shown below (if this screen does not show then
skip to step 7)

Click on the tick box
that is labelled use area code and dialling rules to
remove the tick. This will make area code and country grey, then
type in the phone box ‘086744746.’ This is IGRINs
toll-free Internet access number. Your screen should look like
this:

If your screen looks like the above
screenshot, click next (please ensure phone number is
correct).
Enter your username and password in the boxes provided as shown
below. Ensure that you type them in lowercase, exactly as you
have specified them on your join-up form. Your password will be
shown as dots or asterixes, this is normal to hide the password.
Then click next.

Type in IGRIN as the connection name
(as below) then click next.

Regarding the question ‘would you
like to set up an email account?’ select ‘yes then
next (as below)

Select ‘create a new Internet
Email Account’ then click next (if this screen does
not show, skip to 12)

Type in your name, or business name,
to display an outgoing email:

Type your email address in lowercase.
Please ensure it is spelt correctly, and has no spaces, click
next

Leave POP3 in the top box.
Then type in for ‘incoming mail’ pop3.igrin.co.nz
In ‘outgoing mail’ type in smtp.igrin.co.nz
(as below) then click next

Enter your account name and password
(as in step 8) then click next

Click finish to complete setup

When you open Internet Explorer or
Outlook Express, the dial-up connection window will pop up with
your settings saved; username and password etc.
Provided your computer, modem and phone line are working
properly it normally takes 30 seconds to connect. You can then
surf the net or check email.
